'Spurs add Rose and Terzic to managerial shortlist'

Tottenham have added ex-Bundesliga bosses Marco Rose and Edin Terzic to their list of potential candidates to succeed Thomas Frank, according to The Telegraph.

It is claimed the interview process is now under way for the vacant head coach role, but it is unclear whether Rose and Terzic are seen as interim or permanent options.

Rose and Terzic are both out of work, with the former sacked by RB Leipzig last year, while the latter left Borussia Dortmund in June 2024.

Terzic is reportedly interested in the Spurs job, having turned down the chance to manage several European clubs, including Monaco, to hold out for a Premier League job.

It is also claimed Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane are all prominent in Tottenhams thoughts.

Your Site News understands ex-Spurs striker , but not on a temporary basis.

Spurs sacked Frank on Wednesday, with the players given a few days off ahead of next Sunday's home game against north London rivals Arsenal, live on Your Site.

Their search for a replacement has been complicated by the team being in a potential relegation battle. Spurs sit five points above the bottom three in 16th.

Spurs need a coach who would be willing to take over an injury-ravaged squad and fight for Premier League survival while also competing in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Thiago signs new long-term deal with Brentford

Igor Thiago has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at Brentford

The striker has scored 18 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions this season, with 17 coming in the Premier League, putting him second behind Erling Haaland.

Thiago's new deal keeps him at the club until the summer of 2031, with Brentford holding the option of a further year.

"I love the club and the people in the club," said Brazilian Thiago, who joined Brentford from Club Brugge in February 2024.

"Its a true love, a real love. When the fans support me, and I see them singing my name and singing my song, it gives me more power.

"It has been a great season for us. Everybody has been on the same page. I hope we can get something special from it."

Head coach Keith Andrews added: "Its brilliant that Thiago has committed his long-term future to the club.

"The connection that he has with his team-mates, the staff and the fans, as well as how much the club means to him and he means to us, is pretty evident for everybody to see.

"Again, its the person before the player. I love working with him and Ive loved seeing his evolution as a player. How he plays is such a big part of how we play and what our season has been so far.

"Hes been a massive player for us, so its a contract he thoroughly deserves and Im really happy that the club have been able to get it done."

Sterling joins Feyenoord

Latest from Your Site News' Kaveh Solhekol:

Raheem Sterling has joined Dutch side Feyenoord until the end of the season.

Sterling, who left Chelsea in January, has not played since May 2025 after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

He will link up with former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie, and the Feyenoord boss said: Naturally, its a fantastic feat that weve managed to convince a player of Raheems calibre to sign with us. His football resume speaks for itself: hes a player whose qualities can change the outcome of a game without a doubt, and I am convinced he will turn out to be a valuable addition to the team as we work towards achieving our goals in the second half of this season.

Sterling said: As a free agent, I've had, for the first time in a long time, the opportunity to control the next step in my career. I wanted to take my time to speak with clubs and their head coaches to better understand the role they envisioned for me and ensure that I can add real value in this next chapter.

"Having spoken in great detail with Robin, I'm confident that Feyenoord is a place I can be happy and establish myself as a valued member of the team.

"Playing abroad is a whole new challenge for me - and one Im ready to embrace. Honestly, Im just excited to get started. To Feyenoord and particularly Robin and Dennis, thank you for your patience and professionalism as I navigated this process."

Pereira agrees to replace Dyche as new Forest boss

Latest from Your Site News' Anton Toloui and Mark McAdam:

Vitor Pereira has agreed to become the next Nottingham Forest head coach.

Final details of the deal are still being sorted but it is almost certain the former Wolves boss will take over at the City Ground.

Wolves have been contacted as part of the protocol following his sacking earlier this season.

Pereira saved Wolves from relegation last season but a 10-game winless start in the league this season saw him lose his job.

He is set to become Forest's fourth permanent head coach this season.

Forest were keen to move quickly to find a replacement for Sean Dyche ahead of next Thursday's crucial Europa League knockout play-off first leg away to Fenerbahce.

Pereira was previously employed by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos. He won the league and cup double with the Greek side in 2015.

Smith pens new one-year Bournemouth deal

Versatile Bournemouth defender Adam Smith has signed a one-year contract extension at the Vitality.

The 34-year-old has been at the south coast club since 2014.

Coyle dreams of leading Hull back to Premier League after signing new deal

Hull captain Lewie Coyle is dreaming of leading his hometown club back to the Premier League after signing a new three-and-a-half-year contract.

The Tigers face former player and manager Liam Roseniors Chelsea at the MKM Stadium in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday, but a top-flight return after relegation in 2017 is their priority.

Former Leeds defender Coyle has made over 200 league appearances for Hull after joining from Fleetwood in 2020 and helped them seal promotion from League One in his first season.

Coyle said: I think its the perfect timing to commit the next three and a half years to this football club. Were in a fantastic position in the league and there would be nothing more satisfying for me, and in realising a dream, to captain this club to the Premier League.

Its where Im from. Its where I was born. All my family are from here. Its where I grew up. My family and friends come and watch me every single week.

So when I step out on that pitch, of course, Ive got friends, Ive got family watching me. Ive got the old man watching me. How can I not go out on that pitch and give everything? Id be doing an injustice to myself and my family.

Van Dijk wants 'word-class Konate to stay' at Anfield

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk says he "wants word-class Ibrahima Konate to stay" at Anfield.

The France international is into the last six months of his contract and Van Dijk praised his centre-back partner.

We are friends, we speak about everything, its a process. Lets see what comes out of it. Its never that easy, Van Dijk said after Liverpool's 1-0 win at Sunderland on Wednesday night.

Its never that easy that we can just say get it done, its a process and well see what comes out of it. Obviously I want him to stay, hes an important figure on the pitch, but off the pitch as well.

Hes one of the leaders, hes an outstanding in my eyes world-class centre-back, so I can do only so much. Its in the clubs hands together with his agent and himself so lets see what comes out of it.

Postecoglou points to four players who got away from Spurs

Former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has claimed the club are failing to challenge near the top of the Premier League due to their wage structure.

Speaking in the wake of the sacking of his successor Thomas Frank, he told The Overlap podcast the club missed out on four key targets Pedro Neto, Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi that he hoped would drive them forward following a fifth-placed finish in 2023-24.

All four players have since been sold by their respective clubs while Spurs have been forced to shop elsewhere.

At the end of my first year when we finished fifth, for me, OK how do you go from fifth to really challenging? said Postecoglou.

Well we had to sign Premier League-ready players. But finishing fifth that year didnt get us Champions League, we didnt have the money. So we ended up signing Dom Solanke, who I was really keen on him, I really like him, and three teenagers.

I was looking at Pedro Neto and Mbeumo and Semenyo at the time, Marc Guehi, because I said if were going to go from fifth to there, thats what the other big clubs would do in that moment.

And those three teenagers are outstanding young players. And I think theyll be great players for Tottenham, but theyre not going to get you from fifth to fourth and third.

Championship Catch-up: Boro buoyant & concerns for Coventry

Simeon Gholam is joined by Curtis Davies and Andy Hinchcliffe to take a look at all the latest action from the Championship.

The panel assess Middlesbrough's march to the top, Coventry's concerning dip, Millwall's march, the race for sixth place and potential changes to the play-off format.

Then attention turns to Watford's appointment of Ed Still, and the struggles of Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and West Brom.

Dawson: Forest must look for a 'quick fix' after Dyche sacking

Nottingham Forest must look for a "quick fix" after sacking Sean Dyche and focus on staying in the Premier League, former defender Michael Dawson has told Your Site FC.

Forest are searching for their fourth permanent boss of the season and want to move quickly to make an appointment before their Europa League knockout play-off first leg at Fenerbache next Thursday.

Former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is set to for talks with Forest about taking over with the club three points above the relegation zone and facing a tough run of games in the league.

But Dawson believes his former side should have stuck with Dyche to give them the best chance of staying up.

"It has got to be a quick fix for me now," Dawson said on Your Site FC. "They haven't got time to look past the Premier League.

"[Sean Dyche] was that for me. Do I believe he would have kept them up? One hundred per cent."

He added: "I have got no idea who is going to come in.

"Vitor Pereira went to Wolves when they were in that position last year and kept them up. Players left and you see where they are now.

"Sean Dyche for me was the man that gave Nottingham Forest every chance of staying in the Premier League."
